Overview of CHRISTUS Medical Group (CMG)

CHRISTUS Medical Group (CMG) is a dba for C.H. Wilkinson Physician Network which was formed in 1993 as a Texas 501(c)(3) (not-for-profit) corporation. We are a faith-based physician employment and practice management organization employing over 50 physicians and other healthcare providers in family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology and other specialties. We operate more than 20 medical clinics throughout Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas and provide staffing for several hospital based programs.

CMG is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CHRISTUS Health, with a deep-rooted mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. CMG focuses on delivering excellent healthcare in a service-focused, compassionate environment. As a part of CHRISTUS Health, a multi-state, not-for-profit healthcare system, we possess important alliances and the necessary financial strength to succeed in today’s dynamic healthcare delivery marketplace. Our strength also comes from a deeply-entrenched management philosophy unique to CMG, one which works on a platform of respect for physician leadership and genuine partnership, a combination requiring integrity and open communication every step of the way. We encourage our Associates, physicians and other healthcare providers to take an active role in addressing the issues which affect patient care in today’s complicated healthcare market.

Clinical Quality
We recognize the importance and value our patients place on clinical quality and we have established goals to ensure our patients receive excellent care.

Service Quality
We believe there is a strong connection between the satisfaction of our patients, Associates, physicians and other healthcare providers. Therefore, we have established goals to ensure we provide excellent service to all of these groups and regularly assess and trend our patient, Associate and provider satisfaction ratings. We stand behind our “Service Guarantee” – a commitment to provide each patient with courteous, prompt, and compassionate care; show concern for special needs and privacy; and remain open and honest in communication about their treatment.

Community Value
CHRISTUS Medical Group recognizes the importance of assisting those in need within the communities we serve, and therefore reflects our Social Accountability in relationship to Charity Care by giving back to our communities. We operate clinics for the underserved and sponsor activities throughout the year benefiting organizations such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association and American Heart Association. We also sponsor school supply drives and Christmas toy drives for the children in our communities. We have established goals in volunteer hours for our Associates and providers and in raising donations for worthy causes.

Business Literacy
We focus on our clinics’ operating performance and adherence to budgets, as well as administrative expenses and overhead. In addition, we monitor denials from our payors to ensure we are minimizing denials as a percent of revenue.
